Down by the reeds,
Down by the reeds,
The great ships are coming,
Down by the reeds.
Long way to go,
Long way from home,
The great ships of Gondor,
Will carry me home.
The white gulls do cry,
The soldiers do sigh,
Their wives and their children,
Are calling them home.
Down by the reeds,
Those cursed reeds,
The soldiers of Gondor,
Can never go home...
Hope you like this poem/song/whatever it really is, wrote the words when I was waiting for my bus one day. The place names can be changed by the way, something with two sylables usually works best (Britain, Gondor, Rohan and so forth). The story behind this song, is set back in the olden days when Osgiliath was a flourishing city, where trade was brought in by the river ( I assume). And it shows the passage of time, where it houses more soldiers than civilians, and it ends, rather sadly, by remembering the soldiers who lost their lives in the defence of the city and the River.
Hopefully you liked this, I would love some feedback on what you think about it, if you think something should be added or changed feel free to say.
